With ndiswrapper:

Before you can setup your wireless device with ndiswrapper you need to get the correct Windows XP drivers first. As matter of fact XP drivers don't work by default. Compatibility issues prevents most of the drivers to function correctly. Search this list for you device and get the proposed driver. If your device is not in the list, try the reference driver of the chip manufacturor first. E.g.: Netgear MA521 -> rtl8180 -> use driver from realtek, instead of the Netgear one.

1. Start "Wlan Setup" form the menu or start it as "sudo wlan-setup.sh"
2. Add, for adding the XP driver
3. Quit the script
4. Start "Network" (network-admin) and configure your card (wlan0). If you don't get a network connection, start "Wlan Setup" again, choose "Setup" and adjust the settings if necessary.

Without ndiswrapper: (the card was detected)

Start "Network" (netword-admin) and configure it (eth0). If you don't get a network connection, start "Wlan Setup" again, choose "Setup" and adjust the settings if necessay.

NOTE: Decive name ethX and wlanX, are "just" names and have no influence in the function of the device! Both are legitimate.
