Pre-installation steps

In order to install an operating system like BeaFanatIX, there are several things you'll have to take care of before you even consider starting!

First, make sure that you back up all data you don't want to lose! Several procedures you'll have to go through may result in a unusable or blank system!

A mandatory prerequisite to this is that you've succeeded in booting the live CD.

When this is working, you'll have to make room for BFX; this step is covered in the section about partitioning and formatting.

To be able to really use all of BFX's applications and tools, you should also make sure that you're connected (or could get connected, at least) to the Internet.
