Recent convert to BFX, and thus far is everything I'm looking for in a distro, but I have a few gremlins to iron out. When I try and mount the CD-ROM via Computer/Disks/CD-ROM (with a disk in, before anyone asks!), I get this error :-
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/cdrom,
or too many mounted file systems
Still fairly new to Linux, so not sure where to start looking. Don't know if the last bit is relevant, as I do have several partitions mounted :-
Floppy
CD-ROM
hda1 - Windows install
hdb1 - Encrypted Windows partition - propably doesn't need to be automatically mounted until/if I can get Truecrypt to work ubder BFX
hdd1 - Seperate drive with all my music/video on
Filesystem
Tried unmounting a few , but still doesn't work. Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks

What kind of CD are you trying to mount? CD audio or CD-ROM? Or are you referring to the live CD? If you're running the live CD, the compressed file system's already mounted as /, so that's a very obvious reason why it can't be accessed in any other way
. However, as of yet, BeaFanatIX won't allow you to change the image while running - it's not a writeable CD file system (like UnionFS or SquashFS); but if I'm not mistaken, there are plans to change that at some point in the future.
Using an encrypted Windows partition will involve some extra work; I'm not even sure if it's doable. I'll have to read up on that - or maybe you'd like to do that yourself? ![]()

Sorry, wasn't very specific in the original post. I've got BFX installed and running fine, I'm just getting the above error when trying to play an audio CD. All the other partitions seem to be mounted ok (excluding the encrypted one, but that's another issue) and everything else works fine. Great little distro thus far, I just want to be able to do some audio CD ripping/burning, as at present I have to reboot into XP, which whilst not being the end of the World, does sort of defeat the object of switching to Linux!

You can't mount an audio CD! Open Beep Media Player, open the playlisteditor, click on "add" and then "add CD". The tracks should show up in the playlist.
