google talk Bussard fusion

By the way I'm not Bussard and don't want to be guilty of worshiping him.
Go to Google and put these 4 word's in a search box [google talk bussard fusion]
At age 58 this is my ONCE IN A LIFETIME never before and never after.
I never believed I was pointed to the [physics Holy Grail], [Stop Golb Warm
Melt Ice] (Well later on there could be a second design yet don't give a dam)
Because ONCE IN A LIFETIME I believe.
What do you think, how can an 80 year old man talk [A MILE A MINUTE FOR 1Hr20Min]
in front of 100 plus people at the Google Plex, on the subject of fusion.
Well Wikepedia Dr. Robert W. Bussard can.
The Last will be first

By the way Renegat3 do U live in Germany? If so does a last name of Bussard originate from Germany?

Re: google talk Bussard fusion

What enabled him to do that (I just saw he died three days ago!)? Passion, I guess. Knowing that mankind deperately needs new energy sources, he maybe wanted to find a solution, or help pointing in the right direction.

What make me really mad is that only recently an alliance of seven countries (including USA, Germany, France, Japan) finally agreed to build the first experimental fusion reactor in France. This alliance exists (on-off-on again) since the mid 80's. In the mid 90's, scientists finished the first blueprints of the reactor. But it was to expensive for the alliance. Finally, after reducing the size of the reactor (and also finding new materials), hence reducing the costs to ~12 billion Euro (or USD?) they agreed.
Now, 12 billion is about three months of Iraq war! We have *seven* countries and it took them about 20 years to start building it, because of money! We could have had an experimental fusion reactor for about 10 year now! But no, *seven* countries were simply to cheap to fund it!

Bussard is german for buzzard, but as of origin, it might very well be latin.

Re: google talk Bussard fusion

I double checked. It's very sad Dr. Bussard died. I think the alliance which will be built in France is ITER. All they are developing is the Tokamak design. Tokamak history: Fathers of Tokamak are Soviet Union people. Begging research in US was started by Robert Hirsh and Robert Bussard [partly because Washington DC would not allow anything else in fusion research]. It's better to waist 12Billion on Tokamak than the Iraq war. However Robert Bussard's research guarenties electrical gain in 5 years at a cost of 150Million. How much is 12B /150M? Thats how much more mad I am.
