The old Bea boards

Hi, Moonmind and R3 and everyone,

Well, I just downloaded debris 0.10 and I can't wait to try it!

But I'm posting here because I was wondering where the Bea boards are. I know I saw a link to them somewhere, after they had been moved from watsky.net, but I can't remember where.

There was a post there about kismet that clarified some linux theory and procedure for me, and I wanted to read it again.

Thanks! And Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, a little late.

Kevin

Re: The old Bea boards

The key reason: The domain has gone. We couldn't keep it up any longer technically and financially, and there where lots of personal trouble we couldn't afford to be too much involved in. Hence the BeaBoards have vanished (backups exist, though). On my server (where I wanted to put up a read-only copy), there's (at the moment) no Perl CGI, so we've got to wait - but in my personal opinion, it's too late, and after what happened at the end, I'm not sure I'm keen on reiterating and maybe start the whole ugly part again. So the bottomline is: The board have not been moved, but have gone. We are sorry for that, but after keeping them going for two years on our own accord, we had to let go.

Re: The old Bea boards

Yow!

Your message makes it sound like there is an untold drama to be revealed. I had no idea there was any friction between any of the parties.

Sorry if there were bad feelings. Beatrix seemed to have been conceived in such a feeling of unity and purpose that I'd be extra disappointed if it ended the opposite way.

Anyway, I take it that the lack of Perl CGI means there's no way to search or view backups of the old boards?

Thanks!

Kevin

PS I'm writing this with debris-0.10. Pretty fast!

PPS Also, if I haven't said it before, I appreciate everything you all did to keep the boards up as long as you did.

Re: The old Bea boards

Greetings all,

I have resurfaced after nearly three years and the Bea Boards are back in operation. You can check out the new site at http://swatsky.freeweb7.com, where is a new forum and download links to both BeatrIX and BFX. If I can generate enough interest and find a programmer, hey, we'll get going again.

Many thanks and cheers,

oskarku (Steven Watsky)
